my day of "rest"

So... I've been working with kids for the past week... full-time. Also, it's shift work so, I worked Fri-Sun. Today's my day off... I asked for this day off. I cleaned my room and re-arranged it and then went through my clothes and put the ones I don't wear in a garbage bag and I'll bring it to the Inner-City church or Value Village or something... Woo hoo! I feel so responsible with a clean room. And I'm doing a ton of laundry that's been abandoned on my entire floor for the past... eternity. BUT! I have a floor again!!

Yesterday, it was really funny.... I was walking to my car in the morning... and I felt like I was part of a horror film. It was dark. I looked towards the end of the street and there was this person just standing there, in the middle of the road, big and bulky, far down the road. That kind of freaked me out... and then I started walking down the road towards my car... and then the person at the end of the street starting walking towards me. (Too many scary movies for me.) So, as I'm walking trying to stay calm, all of a sudden a car turns onto the road behind me... so it's like any action movie ever where now you have to run down the street as all you can see behind you is bright headlights! (I didn't break into a run... but I was tempted. Hee hee) So... I got out of the way of the car and walked to mine... and all was well... and it was really funny once I was in my car... but I was tense for a while before that.

Well... I have a busy week this week probably... but they don't really tell you your shift until like... that morning sometimes. So I've gotten used to not having my week planned. But, I also asked for this weekend off so it's only 4 at the most days of work. I can handle that.

speechless

Well... I went to the Brad Paisley concert on Sunday. I am NOT converted to country, nor am I a secret country lover... But I have to admit, I did have fun! I also had to go into it with the attitude that I would have fun... which I did, for Katie's sake and for my own so it wasn't a wasted ticket. It was fun! I think he looks cute! And, it's always fun seeing things live... I knew a couple of the songs because I downloaded a few so I'd be more in the spirit. When he sang "Whiskey Lullaby" I just about cried because that song is so darn sad. I think Katie had a good time too. Terri Clark was interesting as well and fun to see perform. And Johnny Reed... from Ireland... he was really good too. I think it was fun. So, yay, Merry Christmas Katie... and good times.

i am that i am

I am Italian. Or atleast, I feel Italian. I'm eating Three Cheese Focaccia Bread. So I feel cultured. Ethnic, if you will. Anyways, I feel smart and adventuresome for buying it. I bought it from Safeway, not some special bread store from Little Italy... Hopefully though, no one ever asks me to say "Focaccia Bread" because I think it would come out sounding like a swear word. I actually don't even know if focaccia bread is Italian. It ends in "a" so that's either Italian or Spanish. French, maybe. I actually have no idea.

Hmmm, I'm starting to feel less cultured.

Well, I'm also eating two-bite oatmeal raisin cookies, the other best oatmeal raisin cookies in the world. I stand by my original claim that the oatmeal raisin cookies from 7-11 are awesome, but these... These are amazing as well, but extremely hard to find! If someone finds out where you normally can get them, let me know! Safeway only has them sometimes... or maybe I just don't know where to look. Maybe I'll have to check out 7-11. YAY, I can go to 7-11 again!

charlie brown quote

This is my depressed stance. When you're depressed, it makes a lot of difference how you stand. The worst thing you can do is straighten up and hold your head high because then you'll start to feel better. If you're going to get any joy out of being depressed, you've got to stand like this. - Charlie Brown

ode to a glow worm

Ever have one of those days when you feel like you're so fidgety, you could snap something in half accidently?? I feel... fidgety. Restless. BLECH, if you will, but not sick-blech... just, what-the-heck-blech. I can't sit still today, and that's not good because I do work at a computer all day and have to sit. Not still, but sit.

I'm still trying to drink water like a whale... (which is funny because whales are mammals... I wonder what they do when they need water... Maybe they can drink ocean salty water... Do whales need water?? Hmmm...) So, long story short, because of the water intake... I'm peeing like a racehorse. Really fast? No... standing up! Ba doom chush (that was a drum something.) And I don't stand up when I pee either. And too much information. Hey, wait, no, that's kinda common knowledge cuz I'm a girl.

Anyways... BAH. Can't focus! I've already started my new job on weekends... (again, I'll explain in person.) But, my last official day working at this office job is Jan. 20. So... until then, I am a uncaptive audience to a computer and the whims of the Internet. But, I tell you what... I'm awesome at taking out viruses now because we've gotten them twice. Out of nowhere... I'll just be typing along and looking up stuff... Then, danger of all dangers... Norton (my trusty sidekick... just jokes... the computer's trusty virus thingy) will pop up and say he's found a trojan or something... and alas, sometimes... Norton's not so good at taking care of it. I think Norton and Mikey...(Microsoft Anti-Spyware) argue with each other over who's better, and try as I may, I just can't teach those crazy kids a lesson. So, I take on the evil VIRUS on my own. And win. But no such tragedy has befallen me today... and so I sit. Not STILL, of course, because I want to bounce off the walls... but I sit. And type. Oh sigh.

Trapped mouse thrown into fire gets revenge: sets home ablaze

FORT SUMNER, N.M. (AP) - A mouse got its revenge against a homeowner who tried to dispose of it in a pile of burning leaves. The blazing creature ran back to the man's house and set it on fire.

Luciano Mares, 81, of Fort Sumner said he caught the mouse inside his house and wanted to get rid of it.

"I had some leaves burning outside, so I threw it in the fire, and the mouse was on fire and ran back at the house," Mares said from a motel room Saturday.

Village Fire Chief Juan Chavez said the burning mouse ran to just beneath a window, and the flames spread up from there and throughout the house.

No was hurt inside, but the home and everything in it was destroyed.

Unseasonably dry and windy conditions have charred more than 21,000 hectares and destroyed 10 homes in southeastern New Mexico in recent weeks.

"I've seen numerous house fires," village Fire Department Capt. Jim Lyssy said, "but nothing as unique as this one."

New Years Resolutions... I guess.

Well... I got a glass chess set, with glass pieces for Christmas! BEST CHRISTMAS GIFT EVER! So. I'm going to learn chess. That's one of my New Years Resolutions. To learn chess. I'm excited, just incase you're wondering. I also watched "Searching For Bobby Fisher" which made me want to play chess more. So, I'm going to turn more into a nerd and play chess. I'll be the next Bobby Fisher! YES!

I've got other resolutions, but I'll let you know as they come along. Besides the fact I'm switching jobs, (ask me in person, it's a long story), I'm starting university in September, and... well, those I'll tell you later!!
